The ACT is Right Around the Corner

Juniors and Seniors,

It is that time of year again to sign up and take the ACT test. The registration deadline for the next test is right around the corner as is the test itself. Please click on the article title to link to the registration portion of the ACT website or click the ACT link to the right for additional information. The ACT website has valuable information not only related to test dates but also has links designed to help you prepare for test day.

Good luck. Please see your counselors and teachers for additional help.

Welcome Back-Get to Know Your Child's Teacher

Welcome Back Students and Parents!

As we embark upon another school year I encourage you to take the time to be active learners and active parents. Children do not learn alone and parents will not magically learn all they need to know about the progress of their children. Don't wait to hear from your child's teacher or wait for the first night of parent-teacher conferences. Stop by the school. Make an appointment with a teacher or two. Encourage your child to stay after school for extra help. Don't be a stranger in your child's school.

As the year progresses, you will receive feedback from teachers, both formally and informally. While that feedback will be designed to help you understand your child's progress and work with them to continue building upon their strengths while improving upon their weaknesses, the communication should not stop there.

I promise that I and my staff will be accessible to parents and students in many ways and are committed to a year full of open communication and academic progress.

Please visit the link about talking to your child's teacher. There are helpful tips for both parents and students.

Sincerely,

Martin Kaye
